Ghost Orchid Bride is easily one of my favourite suppliers in the wedding industry at the moment. Katey, the owner, is not only super chill – she has an amazing eye for style and detail. I was genuinely super thrilled when she asked if I could go photograph her new shop.
Ghost Orchid Bride recently moved shop to Humber Street, and was previously located in Hessle. It now joins a whole bunch of young and exciting small businesses. Humber Street is fast becoming the creative hub of the city, and the fun, alternative dresses on offer at this lovely shop are a perfect match for the vibe down there at the moment. It’s really nice to see something a little different in Hull’s Wedding industry, too.
Walking into the shop is literally a dream for the modern bride. It’s bright and airy, but with pops of colour throughout (the neon sign grabs your attention the second you step through the door). Think heavenly whites and flowing fabrics, but with a nice little dose of leopard print and neon. Brides are met with an eclectic mix of dresses, too. From sleek and minimal, to bold and intricate, to loud and colourful – Ghost Orchid has something for everyone.
Brands currently on offer include Alexandra Grecco, Daughters of Simone, Chosen by One Day and Made With Love – amongst others. Katey gets clients from near and far. If you’re a future Hull or Yorkshire Bride searching for that perfect, non traditional dress, you’re going to love it!
Here are some favourites from the mini shoot! The gorgeous dried flower arrangements here were created by the lovely and talented team at Bloom & Bridal – check them out too! (After you’ve looked through these photos, obviously.)
